Accessories designer Charlotte Olympia’s dream of having a catwalk show will become a reality today as she makes her London Fashion Week debut - and she is excited rather than nervous.

The London designer is known for her trademark black cat pumps, which are loved by the likes of Alexa Chung, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Other accessories giants showing at London Fashion Week include Mulberry and Anya Hindmarch.

Olympia launched her brand in 2008, after graduating from London College of Fashion’s Cordwainers school, but said now “was the right time” to do a show.

“With every collection so far I have had a mood and a feeling throughout,” she said. “So creating a show has just been taking that to the next step."

"I am excited more than nervous - saying am I nervous is making feel like I should be nervous. I’m just excited about this next step.”

She added: “It is a big show for me and the brand. Ever since I started in fashion as an intern I would always work behind the scenes at catwalk shows. It’s something that I have dreamt about doing.”

The Charlotte Olympia show is at 6pm today. It will be streamed at uk.charlotteolympia.com
