5 minutes backstage with Alice Temperley at her London Fashion Week AW18 show

We discuss details, designs and muses with the British designer
Chloe Street21 February 2018

A master of detailed prints and embroidery, British fashion designer Alice Temperley studied textile design at Central St Martins and the Royal College of Art before launching her first collection out of a hotel bedroom 18 years ago.

Now stocked in over 30 countries around the world, Temperley has, over the years, developed a loyal international following for her ethereal, ultra-feminine designs.

Loved by everyone from Emma Watson to Demi Moore and Pippa Middleton (for whom she designed the emerald green dress Pippa wore to Kate and William’s wedding reception), Temperley has become a major fixture of the British fashion scene.

An expert in dreamy escapism, her shows are always a highlight on the London Fashion Week calendar. And this season's was no exception.

For autumn/winter however, the designer strayed from her usual romanticism with a military-inflected collection that was as strong in daywear and outerwear as it was evening gowns.

We caught up with her backstage to her a little more about the inspirations behind the collection. See the above video for more.
