Download these love apps

If you've failed to find inspiration for Valentine's Day, don't worry - there's always an app (several, in fact) to amuse your beloved. Top of the list is the £1.79 Shakespeare's London app. It includes the location of the Bard's home in London, now under a car park, and the original Globe theatre near Tate Modern. Shakespeare

"This information was known to Shakespeare buffs but not to the general public," says the app's creator, Victor Keegan. His top tip is to visit Longditch near today's Cannon Row by Whitehall, where the Whitehall Palace was, and where Emilia Lanier, the supposed "Dark Lady" of the sonnets who may have been Shakespeare's lover, lived.
There are also a plethora of apps that can find you an elusive last-minute table for dinner. Toptable and Opentable are both well worth a look; Google's Places app is also great for those excellent local cafés.

If you'd rather stay in, there are some superb cooking apps - with Jamie's recipes being among the best. It's free to download but recipe packs will cost you extra. Also check out the free Epicurious app, which has good photography and clear, easy-to-follow instructions. And, if it all goes wrong, there's always the simple-to-use Domino's Pizza app.
