Down the hatch: Jam Mojitos

Fruity: a jam mojito
10 April 2012

If you're a cocktail connoisseur, you might have tried a marmalade martini by now. But how about a jam mojito?

At the new King's Road branch of The Jam Tree (020 3397 3739, thejamtree.com/), reports are in that the gastropub's so-named signature cocktail is proving quite a hit.

Like the original mojito recipe - a blend of rum, soda water, lime juice and fresh mint sprigs - this one is more like a mojito on a night out with granny as it includes a dollop of proper fruit conserve in strawberry, raspberry or blackcurrant.

For £8.50, the barista will mash it all up with a muddler, purée it to a pulp, then add a drop of fruity liqueur. Best tried in the gigantic beer garden out the back.
