Following Sunday night's Oscars ceremony, stars celebrated at a number of after-parties across Los Angeles. While this year there was some competition from Jay Z and Beyonce's ultra exclusive Gold Party, one event still reigned supreme: the Vanity Fair Oscars after party.

Held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts right after the Oscars, the party always delivers a hyper-starry guest list (so starry, in fact, that if you want to buy your way in with a VF party ticket, it'll set you back £79,918 for two.)

This year Kendall Jenner turned heads in an onyx dress, posing alongside her mother Caitlyn Jenner.

The Oscars' red carpet couples were out in force too, featuring Idris Elba and his fiancee Sabrina Dhowre, Joe Manganiello and his wife Sofia Vergara, as well as John Legend and Chrissy Teigen: Twitter's reigning celebrity king and queen.

Miley Cyrus and her new husband Liam Hemsworth also posed for a few photos, coordinating with each other in black outfits.

They weren't the only newlyweds as Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra also joined the party, sharing a moment on the carpet as they posed for photographs.

Charlize Theron, who the Internet now wants to play James Bond after she co-presented Best Supporting Actor to Mahershala Ali with Daniel Craig, was also in attendance. Glenn Close, who was nominated for Best Actress but lost to The Favourite's Olivia Colman, also showed up looking like a winner in a shimmering cape.

The ultimate girl gang and the opening presenters for the Oscars - Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph - also came to the party together.

Other notables who joined the party were Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner, model Emily Ratajkowski and tennis superstar Serena Williams.

James McAvoy might not have won any awards on the night, but he won over the Internet by showing up in a white shirt covered in red pen. The X-Men actor had asked other stars to sign his crisp white shirt - Hollywood's version of the last day of school.

The 91st Academy Awards was a slick operation, despite having no host for the first time in thirty years. Winners included Lady Gaga, Regina King and Mahershala Ali. Gaga won Best Original Song for 'Shallow', which she performed on stage with her A Star Is Born co-pilot Bradley Cooper.

Rami Malek made it a Golden Globe/BAFTA/Oscars hat trick when he scooped Best Actor for Bohemian Rhapsody.
