Ricky Gervais' last outing as Golden Globes host on Sunday night has gone down as perhaps one of the more controversial turns of his career so far.

Not only were there references to Felicity Huffman's trial over the college admission scandal, but also nods to Jeffrey Epstein, the #MeToo movement and Prince Andrew.

Leonardo DiCaprio was also among those to have borne the brunt of Gervais' humour, with the superstar on the end of a joke about the age gap between him and his 22-year-old girlfriend Camila Morrone.

In typical Gervais fashion, the Afterlife star said in reference to DiCaprio's latest film: "[It's] almost three hours long - it's an epic. "Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere and by the end his date was too old for him."

DiCaprio seemed to take the joke in good spirits, laughing along with the rest of the assembled celebs. But like all good jokes there was an element of truth to it, with Morrone over twenty years younger than DiCaprio.

But just who is Camila Morrone? Here's all you need to know about the Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood star's latest girlfriend.

Camila Morrone is a 22-year-old model and actress who has been linked to DiCaprio now for a few years, having first sparked dating rumours towards the end of 2017.

The Argentine-American is no stranger to Hollywood, with her stepfather being none other than A-list royalty Al Pacino. It appears as though DiCaprio has Al Pacino's blessing after they were spotted on double dates together.

At the age of 22, the model-turned actress has already appeared on the front cover of Vogue Turkey, while in 2017 she made her runway debut modelling for Moschino's 2017 resort collection.

She has also appeared in several films, including James Franco's Bukowski in 2013. She returned to the screen in 218 with the films Death Wish, Never Goin' Back and more recently Mickey and the Bear.

Having grown up in an acting household, she had her mother Lucia Sola and Pacino's careers to look up to and in 2019 she received the Rising Star Award at the San Diego International Film Festival.

Morrone is rumoured to have been with DiCaprio for over a year now, and the couple appear to be going steady, enjoying a weekend at Coachella in 2018 and frequently going away on luxurious breaks.

At the Cannes Film Festival last year, DiCaprio was snapped playing Instagram husband as his girlfriend posed for a photo with her arms stretched wide. The pair were at the festival to promote their latest films - DiCaprio’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Morrone’s Mickey and the Bear.

In 2018, a source told E! News: “It is getting more serious. They've been inseparable for the last year and are crazy about one another. They've gotten to know each other's families and they love being together.”

However, the pair have yet to be seen on the red carpet together.

More recently, Morrone hit the headlines for standing up for her relationship with DiCaprio, defending the age gap in an Instagram post which featured a photo of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart - who also had an age gap of over two decades.

Captioning it a "love like this", she received some criticism which she brushed off in a video in which she hit out at "mean and angry" people.

"I just read some of the comments on my Instagram," she said. "My God, people are so mean and full of anger with people that they know nothing about. I guess I just hope on this Friday that people learn to live with a little less hatred and place their time and interests elsewhere, because living without hatred feels pretty good."

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Morrone said she was bothered about the judgment of her relationship, adding: "There’s so many relationships in Hollywood - and in the history of the world - where people have large age gaps. I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date."
