Friends star Jennifer Aniston has shared a sobering reminder to #wearadamnmask on Instagram, posting a picture of a friend’s coronavirus battle.

She posted an image of her friend, identified only as Kevin, lying in a hospital bed and hooked up to a series of tubes and wires.

The actress wrote: “This is our friend Kevin. Perfectly healthy, not one underlying health issue. This is Covid. This is real. We can't be so naive to think we can outrun this...if we want this to end, and we do, right? The one step we can take is PLEASE #wearadamnmask.”

Aniston revealed the picture was taken in early April and that he had since “almost recovered now.” However, she continued: “Just think about those who've already suffered through this horrible virus. Do it for your family. And most of all yourself. Covid affects all ages.”

The Dumplin’ star also shared a picture of herself with her real-life best friend (and Friend) Courteney Cox, both wearing matching tie-dye masks.

A number of stars supported Aniston’s reminder to wear a mask, including Goop’s Gwyneth Paltrow who wrote “Right on sister” and Michelle Pfeiffer who wrote, “Baffling why this is so hard for some people.” Supermodel Naomi Campbell also thanked her and said she would keep Kevin in her prayers.

Courteney Cox also shared a reminder to wear a mask on Instagram alongside Aniston, which was very different in tone. She posted a video of herself, Aniston and their dogs with face masks.

Numerous states in America require people to wear masks in various areas, including indoor areas, shops or a general instruction to wear masks at all times when outside your home. Videos of individuals refusing to wear masks in grocery stores and other establishments around the world have made the rounds on social media over the past weeks.

In the UK, masks are mandatory on public transport and will also become a requirement in shops from July 24.
