'I want to do a dad swap, can you take mine?'

The BRIT Awards were packed with moments that got everyone talking, from Beyonce and Jay-Z’s tribute to Meghan Markle through to Hugh Jackman’s The Greatest Showman-themed opening number. But one unexpected man to win the Internet wasn't a nominee - he was the father of BRITs winner Dua Lipa.

Mr. Dukagjin Lipa, who runs a communications agency and Kosovo music festival Sunny Hill, features prominently on the singer’s Instagram and is frequently her plus one at big events (he was at the Grammys recently too, looking very smart in an Armani suit).

BRITs host Jack Whitehall, dressed in a sharp navy suit and Raymond Weil watch, was bowled over. “You know how much of a dad crush I have. He is the coolest dad” he told Lipa on camera.

“Look at Dukagjin!” he added, “Can we get a camera on this guy? The silver fox over here, the best looking dad in the music industry. I want to do a dad swap, can you take mine?”

Unfortunately for Whitehall, Dua said she would rather hang onto Dukagjin. Twitter would too, it would seem:

Dukagjin also has his own Instagram account, which is essentially a Dua Lipa fan/proud dad account which also features his (equally beautiful) wife Anesa Lipa, Dua and her siblings.

Mr Lipa was also active on Instagram Stories at the BRITs ceremony - capturing Hugh Jackman, his daughter’s One Kiss collaborator Calvin Harris, as well as Dua's reaction to her win.

Dua recently posted a throwback photo of her family back in 2004, showing her dad with spiked hair and an earring. At one point Dukagjin was in a rock band called Oda.

Mr Lipa also kept Wednesday's celebrations going on into the night, posting a series of stories from Warner Music Group’s BRITs after party, hosted by Soho House and Bacardi.
