Jennifer Lopez’s fiancee Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez was forced to walked back on comments he made about Kylie Jenner after Jenner publicly fact checked him on Twitter.

The former baseball player spoke to Sports Illustrated about sharing a table with Jenner at the Met Gala, alongside “the black guy from The Wire” Idris Elba, Sabrina Dhowre, Donatella Versace, “an Asian gentleman from Rich Asians” we assume was meant to be Henry Golding and Jenner’s model sister Kendall.

He said it was “a great table” and then later said, “Kylie was talking about Instagram and her lipstick, and how rich she is.”

As Rodriguez didn’t appear to elaborate any further, it led some to believe that their conversation had solely revolved around her Kylie Cosmetics empire. Jenner, who was named Forbes' youngest self-made billionaire earlier this year, retweeted an article quoting Rodriguez to shut it down.

She responded, “Umm no i didn’t. We only spoke about Game of Thrones.”

The tweet was accompanied by a shrug and slapping face emoji. It quickly went viral and currently has over 201,000 likes and 15,000 retweets, followed by a thread of 1600 replies.

Over an hour later, Rodriguez responded to Jenner’s tweet and wrote, “OMG that’s right @KylieJenner!! It was me talking about you and your make-up line and how much my girls love you. #GOT #respect #alllove”

Jenner, who has yet to respond to Rodriguez’s comment, recently launched Kylie Skin - a complementary skincare-focused endeavour separate to Kylie Cosmetics. Forbes valued her at $1 billion (a figure which was released prior to Kylie Skin), dubbing her the youngest self-made billionaire today.

Jenner later said to the New York Times, “I can’t say I’ve done it by myself. If they’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform.”
