Conceal, don't feel: Cover FX cream concealer (Picture: Natasha Pszenicki)

Last week I performed surgery on myself. Unwise and unpleasant. You know those tiny, hard, white lumps that appear on your face and then stay and stay? They’re called milia and they’re mini cysts. And they don’t go away by themselves and they don’t squeeze out like spots. ‘Head to a reputable facialist to get it removed,’ said the angel on one shoulder. ‘Hold a needle in a lighter to “sterilise” it and then have a dig. How hard can it be?’ rasped the devil on the other.

Well. It wasn’t pretty. And it didn’t work. I was left with a crater and a bloody great scab in the middle of my forehead. Bumps are easy to hide but scabs not so much.

Un-cover-up-able? Non. Not in the face of my new superhero, Cover FX Cream Concealer. It smooths on, doesn’t need blending and evens things out; it treated the wound (for I had actually wounded myself); and it stayed on all day without crusting.

Cover FX is a master of coverage and, really, I should be writing about its new Custom Colour Drops: pure liquid pigment that can be added to moisturisers or SPFs or facial oils or whatever to bump up the coverage from nil to sheer to medium to full. But I can’t write about those because my post-self-surgery need was greater. I am an idiot. Thank God for Colour FX.
