THE BOOK

She’s an absorbing presence at the international collections, what with her myriad daily outfit changes and fabulously risqué street style. And for those who have ever wondered what’s going on inside the head of fashion icon Anna Dello Russo, insight is in sight.

Her first tome, AdR Book: Beyond Fashion, unpacks Russo’s world in one insatiable cabinet of curiosities. Everything from her holy commandments for how to dress and behave during fashion week to an autobiographical diary retracing her childhood to her present life as an international fashion plate is included. Due March. £150 (uk.phaidon.com)

THE FACE

Keep your eyes peeled for Brixton beauty Iris Dubois. The striking, shaven-headed 16-year-old (right) will be making her catwalk debut during LFW, having first been scouted by Premier on a train with her family at the age of 12.

Dubois already has an impressive editorial following having been shot by Sølve Sundsbø and Glen Luchford, plus Craig McDean for British Vogue. Quite the entrance.

THE PRINT

For her SS18 show (below) Mrs Prada enlisted eight female graphic artists in addition to the archive of Tarpé Mills, creator of the first female action hero, to design the empowered graphics which featured throughout the collection.

The illustrative bent reverberated across the collections from Versace to Calvin Klein. The theme is continued at Vice Versa, an exhibition of work by Sturtevant at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac. 23 Feb to 31 Mar (ropac.net)

THE RESTAURANT

Redchurch Street is poised for a new dining experience with plenty of ’tude. Called Brat and opening in late March, it’s the first restaurant of chef Tomos Parry, formerly of Kitty Fisher’s. Okay, it’s actually named after the colloquial term for ‘turbot’, but it’s sure to heat up Shoreditch’s food scene. Using seasonal British produce cooked on an open fire wood grill, it will combine Parry’s Welsh heritage and the flavours of Spain’s Basque region.

Roaring open kitchen aside, we’re predicting this art deco-furnished spot will be red hot. Redchurch Street, Shoreditch, E1 (bratrestaurant.com)

THE EXHIBITION

Tate Modern welcomes its first ever solo exhibition of Pablo Picasso’s work this March, which is set to be the must-see show of the season. The EY Exhibition: Picasso 1932 — Love, Fame, Tragedy chronicles an intensely creative period in the life of the 20th century’s most celebrated artist and features some 100 paintings, sculptures and drawings along with intimate glimpses into his rich personal life.

Tickets £22. 8 Mar to 9 Sep (tate.org.uk)

THE TRIM

Fringe. It’s a little bit country, a little bit showgirl, but certainly a lot of fun. For SS18, think less flapper, more cowgirl as designers explored two tangents: using spliced tendrils to break up familiar forms or as a swinging decorative embellishment.

This trim has well and truly broken free of the disco.

THE EVENT

You’re invited. Mulberry is taking over Spencer House in St James’s to showcase its ‘see now, buy now’ SS18 collection during LFW. In addition to an onsite pop-up shop, the maison will also be hosting a series of public talks and workshops this weekend (17-18 February).

Sign up at Mulberry.com for the Hepple gin masterclasses or take a tipple at the Mulberry Palm Room tea house. Don’t mind if we do.

THE TALENT

Cecilie Bahnsen, 2017 LVMH Prize finalist, is our name to watch for 2018. The Danish designer who studied at London’s Royal College of Art masterfully marries modern embellishments with avant-garde silhouettes and has just been picked up by Selfridges and Matchesfashion.com. Stand by.

THE STORE

The most anticipated boutique opening of the spring is that of the late great couturier, Mr Azzedine Alaïa (below). The new Bond Street store will be the maison’s first outside Paris, with furnishings and art curated by the designer’s closest friend, Carla Sozzani, creator of Milan destination, 10 Corso Como. Its April opening will be followed by an exhibition at the Design Museum in May chronicling Alaïa’s legacy. 139 Bond Street, W1 (alaia.fr)

THE COLLAB

When Emilia Wickstead decided to join the athleisure revolution she knew there was only one partner — namely James Duigan’s Bodyism — and one muse, Ms Arizona Muse (right). ‘It was a very natural and obvious ambition of mine to create a first sportswear collection with Bodyism,’ says Wickstead of her 10-year friendship with Duigan. ‘I wanted to create something fun, directional, yet unexpected,’ she adds of her punchy florals and pretty pastel hues debuted here by the sporty supermodel.

The high-style performance capsule drops in March at Bodyism.com.
