Woman in court accused over killing children found in boot

"Shining lights": Elise and Harry Donnison
12 April 2012

A woman appeared at the Old Bailey today accused of killing her two children whose bodies were found in the boot of a car.

Fiona Donnison, 43, a former City worker, of Lightwater, Surrey, was charged with two murders. She was remanded in custody; a trial is expected early next year at Lewes crown court.

Three-year-old Harry and Elise Donnison, two, who apparently had been asphyxiated, were found in separate holdalls in a Nissan near the former family home in Heathfield, East Sussex, in January.

Their father, Paul Donnison, who was estranged from his wife, had expressed concern about their safety to police. After their deaths, he described Harry and Elise as "the lights that shone the brightest in my life".
