Wolseley launches cut-price retail range
ONE of London's best-known restaurants today launched a range of products at discounted prices at Selfridges' food halls.
The Wolseley in Piccadilly will sell the teas, coffees, wines, champagne and olive oil that the restaurant serves to diners to give customers the opportunity to "recreate" the taste of the Wolseley at home.
Blanc de Blancs champagne, on sale for £62 in the restaurant, will be in the store at £31, while Wolseley Medoc and Petit Chablis will sell for half the restaurant price of £29.50 a bottle.
Teas, such as Earl Grey, English Breakfast and a Lemon Verbena infusion will sell in Selfridges for £8.99, with 250g tins of Cafetière, Filter Blend and Espresso Blend coffees at £9.49.
Chris Corbin, founding partner of The Wolseley, said: "Increasing demand from our restaurant customers for our teas, coffees and other goods prompted the launch of The Wolseley's collection."
Ewan Venters, director of food and restaurants at Selfridges, said: "Here we have two names that sum up stylish London coming together to give customers the chance to re-create the taste of The Wolseley in their own homes."
The range will go on sale today at the food hall in Selfridges in Oxford Street, as well as stores in Birmingham and Manchester.
The Wolseley already sells tableware used in the restaurant, such as linen, silverware and teapots, through its website.
Spokeswoman Martine de Geus said: "All our teas are specially blended for the Wolseley. There are many years of restaurant experience behind the choice."
