Walkout threat at Royal Mint

13 April 2012

A STRIKE at the Royal Mint could cause Christmas chaos as shops and banks run short of change. The 800 workers based at Llantrisant, near Cardiff, who produce 1.6bn UK coins a year, have voted to walk out next month.

The Mint's London notemaking plant is not affected.
