US retailers in the spotlight

INVESTORS will be watching the last of the major US third-quarter earnings figures this week with large retailers in focus. JC Penney reports on Tuesday while Wal-Mart, the world's largest stores chain, and Target report on Thursday. Sales have been buoyant, helping the American economic recovery, but investors will be concentrating on holiday season forecasts.
