Uniq finance chief stepping down

UNIQ'S long-standing finance director and deputy chairman John Worby is saying goodbye to the milking stool after nearly a quarter of a century with the company.

Worby, who joined Uniq in 1978, when it was known as Unigate, will stand down as finance director next month and retire from the board at the end of the year.

Martin Beer, 39, director of finance, will take over as finance director and join the new-look board put together by the new chairman, Nigel Stapleton. Earlier this year he replaced chief executive Terry Stannard with Bill Ronald from Mars.
