Tube chaos as line closes

Thousands of Tube commuters suffered chaos in the rush hour today. The line between East Putney and Wimbledon was closed after a lorry struck a bridge supporting the District line.

There were further problems on the Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines due to signal failure.
