Trainee Pc in race row quits Met

A Met Police recruit has resigned after a disciplinary panel concluded he had abused a fellow trainee with racist insults.

Pc Barry Falcone, 33, was suspended in April pending an investigation by the Met's Internal Investigations Command after the trainee reported comments made off-duty at Peel Centre, Hendon, on 15 February.

It follows a TV programme in which officers were filmed making crude racist remarks.

Speaking after Falcone's resignation, Detective Chief Superintendent Phil Flower said: "Behaviour of this kind is completely unacceptable and any officer demonstrating racist behaviour will find the Met taking action against them."
