The ultimate drive-in movie... Galactica on M6

A lorry driver watched a DVD of Battlestar Galactica as he travelled 25 miles along the M6, a court heard.

Benjamin Trotsman, 37, of Bridgnorth, Shropshire, was spotted driving erratically between Kendal and Penrith in Cumbria by another lorry driver in the early hours of 11 December last year.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: "He appeared oblivious to other motorists, and continued to drive in an erratic manner, speeding up and slowing down, and crossing on occasions on to the hard shoulder. This continued from the Kendal area to where the motorway passes Penrith, where police officers observed the lorry."

Police examined a laptop from the lorry and found that Trotsman appeared to have been watching Battlestar Galactica. Trotsman pleaded guilty to driving dangerously at Penrith magistrates' court last month and will be sentenced today.
