Thames barrier warning

The threat of flooding in London is becoming so severe that by 2100 the Thames barrier will have to be raised almost daily.

Official answers to questions by Liberal Democrat environment spokesman Norman Baker revealed there has already been an alarming increase in its use, from 12 times between 1994 and 1999 to 55 times since.
