Taps work again after mains burst

Water supplies have been restored in west London after a burst water main flooded 60 homes and left thousands with little or no water.

Thames Water engineers are repairing the 30-inch mains pipe which burst in London Road, Brentford at about 6am yesterday, closing half a mile of the street.

It will take two days to fix, but water has been syphoned in from other parts of the network.

Thames Water, said it was "really sorry" for the burst and its loss adjusters can be contacted on 0845 9200800.
