Storm in a teacup over traffic wardens' breaks

Traffic wardens are threatening industrial action over a proposal to make them take tea breaks in the same cafès as fined motorists.

They say their safety could be endangered if they cannot return to a depot for tea, away from potentially irate drivers.

A Bromley traffic warden contractor is planning to give its team a 70p allowance for each break in cafÈs. A ballot on industrial action is being held by RMT members.
