Stella McCartney: I'll take my kids out of private school if they go posh

12 April 2012

Stella McCartney has vowed to take her children out of private education if they become "too posh".

The fashion designer said she worries her three children could turn into "total jerks", but the school system in London means she has no other option.

McCartney, 38, who is pregnant with her fourth child, said: "If at any point it looks like they're becoming total jerks and saying 'hello mummy' in posh voices, instead of running in and just being their awful selves, then you have to knock it on the head."

The designer once criticised her father, Sir Paul McCartney, for being a "tight bastard" for sending his children to a comprehensive. However, she now believes it was the right decision as it kept her grounded.

McCartney is married to furniture company owner Alasdhair Willis. Their eldest son, Miller, four, attends a private school in west London. His brother Beckett, two, and sister Bailey, three, go to private nurseries.
