Snow falls as cold keeps grip

Flurries of snow fell in London today as the cold snap continued - but forecasters warned it would quickly turn to rain.

Temperatures fell to -1C at 6am and were set to stay as low as 6C. Tomorrow should stay below freezing.

Weather expert John Hutchinson said: "At the end of the week and over the weekend it looks like staying cold." Motoring organisations warned drivers to take extra care.
