Second steelman found dead

Standard Reporter12 April 2012

The body of a second steel worker was found today as investigations continue into the cause of the fatal explosion at the Corus plant in South Wales.

It had been known one employee died and one went missing when the blast ripped through the Port Talbot plant in Swansea yesterday, after what Corus described as a "serious escape" of molten iron from a blast furnace.

Thirteen people were injured, five critically with severe burns and respiratory injuries. The dead workers have not been named. The furnace where the explosion occurred remains closed today as police and safety officials investigate. The rest of the plant is open.
