Second Bertelsmann chief quits

JOEL Klein has quit as head of Bertelsmann's US operations in the second high-profile departure from the German group in two days.

His move came just 24 hours after chief executive Thomas Middelhoff was ousted in Germany. Middelhoff's departure has dampened hopes that the German giant may bid for Granada or Carlton.
