12 April 2012

Samantha Cameron left hospital today with her new baby Florence Rose Endellion.

The Prime Minister's wife slipped out of the back of the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, according to a source.

She is said to have got into a people carrier with blacked out windows before being whisked away from the hospital's maternity unit where photographers and reporters were waiting out the front.

She gave birth to daughter Florence by Caesarean section on Tuesday.

Prime Minister David Cameron, who has been on holiday in Cornwall with his wife and children Nancy, six, and Arthur Elwen, four, is due to take paternity leave.

A hospital spokesman confirmed that Mrs Cameron had been discharged after a third night at the Royal Cornwall.
