Royal & Sun to slash 900 jobs

TROUBLED insurance giant Royal& SunAlliance today said it plans to cut 900 jobs. RSA also revealed it would sell another swathe of assets to help raise the £3.6bn it needs to strengthen its balance sheet. The City had been expecting a major new share issue, but the dire state of world stock markets has forced the asset sell-off.
