Ronnie Biggs in great piggy bank robbery

12 April 2012

Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs caused angry scenes at his nursing home after he discovered £100 had been stolen from his piggy bank.

Thieves took the money from his private room at the home in Barnet where the 81-year-old now lives.

Biggs, released from prison on compassionate grounds last year, was said to be furious when he discovered the theft.

A source close to the home said: "Ronnie's kicked off big time. He's demanding all the other residents have their rooms turned over."

A police spokesman confirmed they had been notified of yesterday's theft.
