Residents demand clampdown on nightclub run by friend of Prince William

Owner: Prince William's friend Guy Pelly, whose nightclub Public is at the centre of complaints

Pressure is mounting for a council clampdown on three Chelsea nightclubs, including a new one launched by Prince William's best friend Guy Pelly.

Revellers from his club Public and two other King's Road nightspots, Rumi and Embargo, have allegedly been behaving badly in streets nearby, including urinating into basements. Peter Tyler, 58, who lives in a street opposite, said: "People leave late at night carousing and yelling in the street. Cars block our road, people park in our handicapped son's disabled space and we found someone asleep in our car."

Residents have bought costly double glazing to block out noise. One even entered a club in her dressing gown to ask if they could turn down the music. They have now sent Kensington and Chelsea council a petition with more than 100 signatures requesting a review of Mr Pelly's late-night licence.

Resident Paula O'Reagan, 50, said: "The club owners think they have no responsibility. Once people leave their clubs they don't care."

The council said a "significant" number of complaints had been received, adding: "Public's licence will be reviewed in May."
