Rammed Pc gets up and tasers fleeing crook

A dramatic film sequence shows a policeman sent flying by the force of a stolen BMW being rammed into his police car.

But the officer gets up, chases the driver who is fleeing on foot and brings him down with a Taser before collapsing in agony himself. Pc Dan Pascoe, 27, and his colleagues set up a roadblock near junction 11 of the M25 in Surrey to stop a car driven by Lee Adamson.

His determination to catch his man was captured by cameras on a second squad car. Adamson admitted at Guildford crown court dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and resisting arrest.

The 29-year-old from Hayes was given a 23-month sentence. Pc Pascoe escaped with minor injuries.

Inspector Chris Colley said his men showed "courage and determination", adding: "The officers, particularly Pc Pascoe, had to react extremely quickly. I'm proud of them."
