Putney crash: Female cyclist rushed to hospital after collision with van

A female cyclist in her 50s has been rushed to hospital following a collision with a van in Putney.

Police were called to the incident on Putney Hill at 11:45 this morning after the crash. The van driver has not been arrested.

London's Air Ambulance also attended the scene, at the junction with Putney Heath Lane.

The woman's condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Tibbet's Ride remains closed northbound between Tibbet's Corner and Putney Heath Lane.

A Met police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at approximately 11:45hrs on Monday, 5 September to reports of the collision on Putney Hill, at the junction with Putney Heath Lane, SW15.

“London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance also attended the scene. The cyclist, a woman believed aged in her 50s, was taken to a south London hospital for treatment - condition awaits.

“The driver of the van stopped at the scene. He has not been arrested.

“Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to the collision, is asked to contact police on 101.”
