£1m fund Red Cross memorial

The British Red Cross Society is to set up a Queen Mother Memorial Fund, it was revealed today.

It aims to raise ? 1million to expand the organisation's Tracing and Message Service, reuniting families that have been separated by wars or natural disasters.

The Queen Mother was President of the BRCS and had first-hand experience of the tracing service which found her brother in a prison camp during the First World War and her nephew in the Second World War.
