Princess Pushy 'sorry for Harry'

Princess Michael of Kent has launched a defence of Prince Harry after he wore a Nazi uniform as fancy dress.

Speaking to a German newspaper, the princess said the furore showed the British media's sensitivity to the Holocaust and anti-Semitism.

She also revealed the Queen's party piece - a mock cockney accent - and made controversial comments about interbreeding between classes in Britain.

The Czech-born royal - known as Princess Pushy for her imperious manner - also defended her use of Botox.

The princess's father, Baron Gunther von Reibnitz, was revealed in the Eighties to be a former Nazi party member and SS officer.

But she told Welt am Sonntag: "I feel sorry for Harry. If he had worn a hammer and sickle, nobody would have got excited. Even though the hammer and sickle stands for Stalin and gulag and pogrom and devastation.

"The press has a different sensibility because of its ownership structure."

She blamed friends and bodyguards of Harry for not warning him of the reaction his actions would provoke.

Despite a history of gaffes, the princess then complained that the English allow interbreeding-between the classes. She said: "The English take the breeding of their horses and dogs more seriously than they do their children. God forbid the wrong drop of blood should get into their labrador. But their children marry everywhere."

She added that "the world is changing" but insisted "an arranged marriage is not really the worst" way to preserve aristocratic blood.

The princess, 60, then made her first public confession that she uses Botox. She said: "I've been using it for five years. Everybody over the age of 25 should take it."

She also revealed the Queen entertains guests by using cockney and Norfolk accents. She added: "The Queen is distant towards strangers. But with friends and family she can be very funny."

Last year the princess allegedly told black diners in a New York restaurant to "go back to the colonies".
