Prices for Paralympics tickets to be announced

Prices for tickets to the London 2012 Paralympics are announced today.

Applications for the two million tickets open from September 9 to 30.

More than 150 nations are set to compete in 20 Paralympic sports across 19 venues at the London 2012 Paralympics, which take place between August 29 and September 9 next year.

A variety of special schemes will be staged ahead of the Games to help the public understand the high skill levels needed to be a top Paralympian and feel the buzz of being part of the 2012 Paralympics.

International Paralympic Day 2011 be coming to London on September 8, with Trafalgar Square being transformed with a full-size sitting volleyball court.

Visitors will be able to take part in a taster day alongside top athletes and businesses which have trained up teams to get an idea of the Paralympic spirit.

The Paralympic Torch Relay will also take place in August 2012 in the run-up to the Paralympic Games.
