Posh blasts 'jealous Brits'

Victoria Beckham: says Brits are jealous of her business mind
13 April 2012

Victoria Beckham is blaming her sour image on the bitterness of the British public, saying they are just jealous of her business acumen.

In a foul-mouthed rant, the former Spice Girl claimed she received negative media coverage because of a conspiracy of spiteful people unhappy at her success.

'Somebody's got something in for me,' she said in an interview with the magazine i-D. 'I don't know who it is and why it is, but it's true.

Speaking about her controlling image she went on: 'I don't put up with that s***, basically. That's it. You have to bear in mind that in Britain good businessmen are seen as good businessmen and good businesswomen are seen as bitches.'

Mrs Beckham, 29, insisted she would be happy to move to the other side of the world to benefit her husband's football career. 'If David said to me that he wanted to go and live in Japan and it was genuinely what was best for his career, then I'd go. That's how much I love him.'

She claimed the public did not know the real Victoria Beckham.

'I think they think I'm a miserable bitch,' she said. 'But that's people that don't know me.'

Despite her apparent reluctance to spend much time in Spain since her 28-year-old husband moved to Real Madrid last summer, she claimed she was now happily settled with sons Brooklyn, four, and Romeo, one, in their rented £4.5 million villa.

'We've very happy. These things are tricky. I'm juggling spending time as a family, Brooklyn's school, my work, David's schedule,' she added.

'All our furniture from Manchester's been moved out there - that's where I spend a good deal of my time. That is my home. I love spending time there. Who wouldn't like it? Much as I love my work, my priority is my family being together.'
