Police hunt two robbers on run from open jail

12 April 2012

Police today appealed for help to trace two robbers who are believed to be on the run in London after walking out of an open prison.

Jodie Rouse, 29, and Peter Dixon, 31, absconded from jail this month but efforts to trace them have failed.

Detectives warned the public not to approach them as they are believed to have access to firearms.

Rouse, who is from Barnet, and Dixon, from Pimlico, walked out of Sudbury jail in Asbourne, Derbyshire, on September 15.

Rouse was jailed for 10 years in 2007 for a number of offences including robbery, possession of a firearm and violent disorder. Dixon was jailed for five years for robbery.

Police believe both men have returned to London because of their connections in the city.

Anyone who has seen the men should call 020 7230 8666 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
