Police hunt for man murdered British student went to meet

Polish police are hunting a man a murdered British student told friends she was due to meet.

Kate Zaks, 21, told her friends she was on her way to meet the man last Friday night. A train passenger spotted her body next to a railway line in Krakow on Saturday. She had been beaten to death.

She was working as an intern at an art gallery and a museum in the city as part of her history and philosophy of art degree at the University of Kent.

Luke Felepiak, 22, a close friend who worked for the Zaks's family business, said Miss Zaks was a "beautiful girl" who was passionate about horses and art and loved living in Poland.

Her father Greg, a shopkeeper from Robertsbridge, East Sussex, and her mother Violetta flew to Poland on Sunday.
