Police hold 11 as man dies in neighbours' fight

12 April 2012

A man was stabbed to death and another was seriously injured in a "neighbours' dispute" that erupted in a mass fight in Bexleyheath.

The victim, 36, died in Bynon Avenue after police were called to reports of a fight at 7.30 last night.

A second man was taken to hospital with a neck wound, but was discharged after treatment. Eleven people arrested at two houses were being questioned today, sources said.

An air ambulance team treated the 36-year-old at the scene but he was pronounced dead shortly after 8pm.

An argument between two men was said to have escalated to involve other members of two families.

Police said they knew the identity of the dead man and were trying to contact his next of kin. The road was sealed off today. Neighbour Lesley Beasley, 60, said: "There have been disputes in the street in the past."
