Police fail to find murdered man in his flat

The body of a man was left in his home for nearly three weeks after a police search failed to find it.

Albert Adams, 56, bled to death after being stabbed last month. But police saw nothing when they went to the flat following a neighbour's report of a disturbance, and it was not until the neighbour called again that they found his body behind a curtain.

Neighbours today spoke of their shock both at the murder and the disabled man's body being left for so long. Scotland Yard has launched an inquiry.

  • A 36-year-old woman has been charged with murder and appeared before magistrates at Belmarsh yesterday.
