Pippa's 'mystery' partner has fast feet off the dance floor too

12 April 2012

The man who swept Pippa Middleton off her feet was today revealed as a child's entertainer who set a record as the world's fastest pantomime horse.

Charlie Astor, 29, Pippa's ex-boyfriend, was pictured lifting the 28-year-old into his arms at the Boodles Boxing Ball earlier this month.

Today it emerged that the Old Etonian apparently dated Pippa, the Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister, three years ago. The relationship was said to be casual.

In 2009 he appeared in the Guinness Book of Records as the front end of the pantomime horse as it ran 100m in a respectable 13.51 seconds. Astor is the great-grandson of the 1st Baron Astor of Hever, former owner of The Times (and cousins of the fabulously wealthy American Astors) whose family seat is Hever Castle in Kent.

He co-founded Sharky (his nickname) and George, a firm organising children's parties, in 2003.
