'Awful body odours'
Georgie Andrews,

It is a nightmare'

Cassie Pessaran, 19, a student from Enfield, said: "People who smell of sweat on the Tube are a nightmare. They always seem to sit next to you. Even if you stand up and try to move away from them you usually find yourself stuck under someone's armpit. I don't know if taking a shower will stop it."

'Staying fresh is easy'

Harry Bayntun, 22, a student from Kensington, said: "It's a good idea. If I can take a shower every day I don't see why others can't. It only takes a couple of minutes and would spare a lot of people a lot of discomfort. I think they should consider installing some kind of air-freshener system on the Tube."

Kate Homer, 18, from Hither Green, defended the personal habits of London's commuters and blamed the trains. "Most people probably take showers before getting on the Tube, so I don't think that's the answer to the problem. Having better ventilation for the carriages is probably the best option."
