12 April 2012

Two men appeared at the Old Bailey today to deny the murder of a teenager who was stabbed and run over by a car after he went out to local shops.

Michael McCarthy, 19, of Stoke Newington, north London, was killed near his home in November last year.

Julian Edwards, 20, of Aubert Road, Highbury, north London, and Mustafa Demirtas, 21, of Old Street, central London, appeared in court via videolink.

Both men entered not guilty pleas to the charge of murder and were remanded in custody until a trial in September.
