Olympic ticket buyers find out what they got

About 700,000 successful applicants for Olympic tickets will discover tomorrow what seats they have been given.

London 2012 Games organiser Locog will send out a mass email informing them tomorrow morning.
The 1.2 million applicants who were left empty-handed in the ballot will get a second chance to buy tickets on Friday but several sports are expected to sell out within hours.

The remaining tickets for athletics, basketball and rowing are not expected to be available for long after the first-come, first-served sale starts at 6am on Friday.

Applicants in this second sales wave will be informed within 24 hours whether they have been successful.

Among the few thousand remaining tickets for athletics are the morning sessions priced £150-£450 and £725 for the men's 4x100 metres relay final.

Twenty one sports are sold out but there is officially "low" availability in nine sports and "good" availability in 15 sports.

In the "low" category are archery, athletics, basketball finals, beach volleyball, equestrian (dressage), fencing, rowing, table tennis and taekwondo.

However, large numbers of tickets remain in the team sports of football and volleyball. Fans are reluctant to commit at this stage because they do not know the draw.

Locog today reminded applicants of key differences from the initial ballot. Applicants can only submit a second chance sales application once and for a maximum of three sessions.

The second chance sales are still a request for tickets, with allocation on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible applicants are encouraged to sign in early.
