New guidelines for staff at Baby P clinic

NHS London is to issue new guidance on staff training at the clinic that sent home Baby P when he had suffered a broken back.

It confirmed today that its board has been monitoring progress reports after an independent review found serious failings at St Ann's Hospital clinic in Tottenham which treated 17-month-old Peter Connelly. Next week Dr Sabah Alzayyat, who examined him two days before he died in August 2007, faces a disciplinary hearing at the General Medical Council.
