New Bond film finally has name

Richard Simpson12 April 2012

After months of speculation, the 20th James Bond film is to be called Die Another Day.

The title was released by producers from Eon Productions last night just weeks after fans were asked to send suggested names to a website. The provisional name for the film had been Bond 20: Beyond the Ice.

"Die Another Day carries on the tradition of the Ian Fleming stories and reflects the excitement and mystery of our latest script," producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said.

The film, which began shooting in January, has had fans of the British secret agent on tenterhooks. One dedicated website eagerly reported last year that it had details of the new movie which it claimed would be called Final Assignment - only to discover the "leaked" script had been written by an overimaginative fan.

Die Another Day, which sees Pierce Brosnan as Bond for the fourth time and also stars actress Halle Berry, will be released in Britain and America on 22 November.
