Nepalese choir found after airport mix-up

12 April 2012

A Nepalese choir who sparked an immigration alert after vanishing from Heathrow were found after three days at a house in Wembley.

The 10 men were due to perform at the Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival but said they had got lost. Organisers were forced to cancel a scheduled appearance in Penzance, but the group finally performed at St Agnes over the weekend.

Organiser David Peters had sent a minibus to collect them and alerted the authorities when he could not find the choir. Three days later the organisers got a call to say the singers had taken a wrong turn out of the airport and were at the house in Wembley.

Another bus was sent to London to collect them and the second of their planned concerts went ahead. Mr Peters added: "I've no idea how they managed it. We sent another coach to pick them up."
