Model Erin sells outfits to support budding designers

Erin O'Connor is clearing out her wardrobe to raise funds for a charity that supports up-and-coming stars of the fashion world.

The supermodel will part with items by designers such as Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Ralph Lauren, Marni, Mulberry and Chanel at an auction next month.

The 30-year-old Marks & Spencer house model, who stands 6ft 4in in her high heels, hopes to raise thousands for the British Fashion Council with the sale of dresses, jackets, coats, shoes and bags.

The council provides financial support to aspiring designers and models at the start of their careers.

About 30 O'Connor lots will go under the hammer at Christie's in South Kensington on 16 September.

Zoe Schoon of Christie's said: "You don't have to be a size zero to wear this stuff - some will fit a size 12."
