Michael Barrymore at court today: The TV entertainer was fined for cocaine possession
12 April 2012

Michael Barrymore tried to hide cocaine in his mouth after being questioned by police when a car hit a kerb, a court heard today.

Ealing magistrates were told he ranted at officers: "Don't you think I've had enough of this f*****g s**t from you lot over the years? I know the law."

They fined the former host of Strike It Lucky £780 after he admitting possessing the drug. Barrymore was held at 4.30am on November 22, after officers found him and another man by a hired Citroen DS3 in Acton. It was unclear who was the driver.

Sally Peters, prosecuting, said Barrymore, 59, tried to conceal what appeared to be white powder in his mouth, which he refused to spit out. He was strip-searched and a small rock of cocaine was found.
