Medals burglar tracked after drinking champagne

A burglar has been jailed for three and a half years for stealing £35,000 military antiques in an office raid.

James Maloney, 33, drank a bottle of champagne and took a bronze bust and 18th and 19th century medals when he cracked the safe of an IT firm in Palmers Green. He was traced from a DNA sample.

Blackfriars crown court heard he was in breach of four suspended prison sentences.
